Communications

The Fairbank Police Department communications are operated out of the countywide Buchanan-Independence Public Safety Center. The Communications Center provides dispatch services for 10 of the 12 city Fire Departments in the county, the Fairbank, Jesup, and Independence Police Departments, the Buchanan County Sheriff's Department, County Emergency Management, and the Fairbank, Jesup, and People's Memorial Hospital Ambulance Services. A board composed of various Buchanan County officials governs the Communications Center.
